In order to assess if pressure management is suitable for a system design it is necessary to identify the AZP (Average Zonal Point) and CPP (Critical Pressure Point). The Critical Pressure Point is the lowest point of available pressure.
Pressure in a water distribution network can differ depending on typography, if is a gravity fed or pumped system. Critical points locations are normally at the highest location or the furthest from the inlet as pressure will decrease with elevation. The CPP is normally monitored when managing a PMA (Pressure Managed Area), as if the pressure is within acceptable range at the CPP then the pressure in remainder of the network is acceptable. Low pressure or DG2 events are directly linked to customer satisfaction and potentially ODI performance commitments.
Ashridge’s range of TOR pressure loggers includes the TOR-2N which has a single internal pressure transducer with a range of 5, 10 or 20 bar transducer or the TOR-5N which has two internal pressure transducers with the same ranging. The TOR pressure loggers can record.
