Pressure Reducing Valves is a critical element of a water distribution network. The status and condition of your PRVs are critical to ensuring a well maintained, safe and dependable water distribution network and failure to maintain can put unnecessary stress on the water network which can cause the following problems:
- Leakage and main bursts due to high pressure and transients
- Low pressure and loss of pressure
- Increase in Non-Revenue-Water loss
- Challenge in managing water distribution and flow
Ashridge’s NB-IoT/LTE-M battery-powered TOR-5N pressure logger offers real-time alerts and enhanced situational awareness from any PRV on-site or in your network. The TOR-5N will continuously monitor the inlet and outlet pressure through internal pressure transducers and alert you in real-time should your PRV operate outside of normal conditions. The TOR-5N is also capable of monitoring flow if required.
The TOR-5N will store the data internally and transmit it via the cellular network depending on the transmission schedule configured. The data is transmitted via a secure route into the cloud and is viewable via Ashridge’s portal, Aquaguard. The Aquaguard portal provides the user with a platform to interrogate the data, view alarms and make remote configuration changes to the unit when required. This data can also be exported to systems such as SCADA or other third part systems by using the Aquaguard API.
The TOR-5N provides a complete remote solution for monitoring PRVs that will aid in reducing leakage and Non-Revenue Water loss, detect PRV failures before they cause network challenges and enable users to optimise pressure and flow in the distribution network.
