Reservoir Level Monitoring

Reservoir Level Monitoring is critical to maintaining water supplies during normal or emergency conditions and enables accurate tracking of usage for planning and operations, as well as, environmental compliance and reporting. It can also aid in optimising water system pressure and energy management.

Reservoir Level Monitoring can be done by a level sensor connected directly to a PLC via a 4-20mA current loop or Modbus. Ashridges’ D700 is a 316L stainless steel vented submersible digital and analogue level transmitter. The D700 is an extremely versatile product that can be used in many different applications but is an excellent fit for Reservoir Level Monitoring. The D700 offers a transducer range from 3 bar up to 10 bar, enabling a very accurate level of data depending on the size and type of reservoir. The D700 can be configured for alarms to indicate changes outside normal operating conditions.

Combining the D700 with either a TOR-3N (Analogue) or TOR-6N (ModBus) datalogger provides a robust remote monitoring solution that works via the cellular network Using NB-IoT/LTE-M or 2G. The TOR-3N or TOR-6N will store the data internally and transmit it via the cellular network depending on the transmission schedule configured. The data is transmitted via a secure route into the cloud and is viewable via Ashridge’s portal, Aquaguard. The Aquaguard portal provides the user with a platform to interrogate the data, view alarms and make remote configuration changes to the unit when required. This data can also be exported to systems such as SCADA by using the Aquaguard API.

The D700 is a versatile instrument for monitoring water levels in reservoirs and can assist in improving the management of water supplies, enabling real-time visibility and accurate environmental reporting and compliance.
