Non-Revenue Water

Globally, Water Companies are facing the challenge of ageing infrastructure and the increasing focus on reducing leakage and non-revenue water (NRW) loss.

In the UK, OFWAT has set the challenge for all UK Water Companies to reduce leakage in AMP 7 (2020-2025) by 16% and there are 310,000 miles of water pipes running under the ground in the UK
Leakage has a significant impact on operating costs and environmental impact through abstracting, treating and pumping NRW around the water distribution network. 3 billion litres of water are lost every day and is equivalent to 1,180 Olympic size swimming pools.

Ashridge’s TOR range of data loggers provides an innovative solution for enabling utilities to tackle this problem. From measuring flow through to pressure, the TOR range of data loggers offers versatility in addressing this challenge. The TOR-N range utilises either NB-IoT or LTE-M cellular connectivity to improve network visibility and operations through real-time leak detection and monitoring of water pressure and flow. It will help to address the worldwide challenge of non-revenue water loss and assist in enabling proactive leak monitoring and repairs which in turn help to reduce the operational and environmental costs associated with non-revenue water loss.
